Big Burger Biannual - Watergardens Town Centre, Taylors Lakes

Today's post is a little different. As Hank Marvin Market's Big Burger Biannual was in town, Chloe, Madi and I found ourselves skimming our eyes over a selection of food trucks offering their best burgies rather than going to a restaurant. Since it's food truck season, I decided it would be a good opportunity to test out what a couple of these burgy joints on wheels have to offer.

On a hot, dry day under the sun, foodies and families alike came down to check out the Big Burger Biannual at Watergardens Town Centre, Taylors Lakes. There were plenty of trucks to choose from, with most of them offering at least one burger of some sort. After doing a lap of the venue, we returned to Ron's Handburger, where we all ordered the Cheesy Bacon.

The Cheesy Bacon, as you would expect, is very cheesy. Apart from melted cheese, this burger packs some cheese sauce and a nice, thick cut of bacon to go with the beef, lettuce, tomato, pickle, special house sauce and toasted brioche bun. It's basically a cheeseburger with extra cheese and bacon, and quite a fine one at that. My only gripe is that the bun is a bit too sweet for my liking.

Chloe liked the burger as well, but she found all the cheese a bit rich. Madi's one was a little messy, which she didn't appreciate.

After the Cheesy Bacon, I bought the Tempura Shroom Slider from Sliders on Tyres. The mushroom masquerades as the patty and is flanked by iceberg lettuce, slaw and Korean chilli mayo. I liked this slider quite a lot and really appreciated the texture of the mushroom. The mayo is a little hot, providing a bit of kick without being overwhelming.

Pricing
The Cheesy Bacon costs $12 while the Tempura Shroom Slider costs $6.

Address
Wherever they may pull up and park.

The Last Bite
Both Ron's Handburger and Sliders on Tyres are worth a nibble.
